Hi, Educating AI Community,
I wanted to pass on a few exciting announcements.
This week,
, , and I published a guest post, “AI Adoption in Education in 2024: An Overview” in Michael Spencer’s AI Supremacy Substack. We cover a lot of ground. Here is the table of contents:
Table of Contents:
Section 1: Nick Potkalitsky’s “Evaluating Success for AI Adoption in Education”
Section 2: Marc Watkin’s “From Panic to Praxis: Developing AI Literacy in Higher Education”
Section 3: Lance Cummings’s “Redefining Higher Education: The Imperative Shift from Content to Outcomes in the Age of GenAI”
Section 4: Nick Pokalitsky’s “Seize the Moment: Four Keys to Unlocking AI Potential in K-12 Settings”
I plan on publishing the entire post on this site on Wednesday, but I would appreciate your support on AI Supremacy too. A “like” goes a long way towards broadcasting the value of content in this digital information economy.
On a second note, I was a guest on two podcasts this week.
Jethro Jones has hosted a podcast on transformative school leadership for over 10 years, but recently branched out to create A Vision for Learning podcast in response to the rapid acceleration and advancement of AI technology in classrooms.
Jethro and I had an amazing conversation about my own writing practice and establishing measures of success of AI implementation.
00:00 Introduction and Guest Presentation
00:55 The Role of AI in Education
02:11 Addressing Plagiarism in the Age of AI
05:07 The Impact of AI on Teaching and Learning
15:08 The Changing Landscape of Writing with AI
19:00 The Future of AI in Education
I also had a great conversation with Tobias Mark Jensen of the Futuristic Lawyer Substack, who has recently broadened his reach by recording AI innovators for a YouTube hosted podcast. So, yes, readers, you will get to SEE me speaking with Tobias in the very near future.
I will let you know when that video is released.
Hopefully, this will not be my last foray into video.
Lastly, I want to post a very interesting pilot study from the Montreal AI Ethics Institute. As I repeat in both podcasts, we are still in need of evidence to underwrite specific implementations of AI into today’s classrooms. By taking part in such studies, or organizing similar studies in our own regions, we can contribute to the growing body of knowledge about best practices.
We can do this!!!
Be on the lookout for a great post on Monday!!!
Chrissy Macso, a middle school teacher, will introduce us to some cool prompting methods for a writing project focused on Kazuo Ishiguro’s Klara and the Sun.
See you on Monday!!!
Nick Potkalitsky, Ph.D
looking forward to your exciting news !!!
Way to go Nick, you're certainly keeping busy!
