For thousands of years, the field of rhetoric, specifically sophism, has noted there is nothing inherently good or bad about technology. It is all about determining the right use of technology in context.
There is no right answer.
So until scholars get a grapple on that, we are going to see this push and pull.
Another study was done by some researchers at the University of Pennsylvania with the title "Generative AI harms learning". It's one of the only randomised controlled trials in the space.
